Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Make the muffin batter by creaming butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, sour cream, and milk. Fold in dry ingredients, then gently stir in strawberries.
  2. Mix the cream cheese filling by combining cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Layer the muffins by scooping half the batter into lined muffin tins, adding a spoonful of cream cheese filling, then topping with remaining batter. Swirl lightly.
  4. Add crumb topping by mixing flour, sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over each muffin.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden and set. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh strawberries for best results.
  • Greek yogurt can substitute sour cream.
  • Crumb topping is optional but adds texture.
