A creamy, savory, and easy one-pan pasta dinner made with bow tie pasta, Italian sausage, and sun-dried tomatoes, perfect for busy weeknights and full of bold Italian flavors.

  • 12 oz bow tie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ red onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (in oil), sliced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook bow tie pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it into chunks, and cook until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Add chopped red onion, garlic, and sliced sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the cooked pasta, reserved pasta water, and Parmesan cheese. Toss well until everything is evenly coated and creamy.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and optional chili flakes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot.
