  • 1/2 cup melted butter (for the brownie base)
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for the pecan topping)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves (toasted)
  • Optional: Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions, adding melted butter. Pour into a greased 9×9 pan and bake for 15 minutes (not fully done).
  2. Whisk corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in pecans.
  3. Pour the pecan mixture over the partially baked brownies, spreading evenly.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the pecan topping is set and glossy (center should be slightly jiggly).
  5. Let cool completely, then slice into squares. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
