Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (plus more for topping)
  • Optional: chocolate chips for extra gooey bites

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas and mix in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add baking soda, salt, and flour to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Gently fold in Nutella to create a chocolate swirl. Optionally, add chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups and bake for 18–20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let muffins cool slightly, then top each with a warm dollop of Nutella before serving.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep muffins light and fluffy.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
  • Reheat slightly before serving for a gooey Nutella top.
