Ingredients
Scale
1½ cups warm water (110°F)
2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
⅔ cup baking soda (for boiling)
Coarse sea salt (for topping)
Cooking spray or extra butter (for greasing)
Instructions
Mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, salt, and melted butter. Mix and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
Let dough rise for 30 minutes. Cut into ropes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
Boil pieces in water mixed with baking soda for 30 seconds.
Place bites on a greased baking sheet, sprinkle with sea salt, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes.
Notes
Ensure the water is warm (110°F) to activate the yeast properly.
Knead the dough well for the best texture.
Boiling the dough briefly gives the pretzel bites their signature chewiness.
