- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional but recommended)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1–2 tbsp heavy cream or milk (for frosting)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Pinch of salt (for frosting)
- Festive sprinkles (red, green, white)
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg, egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Slowly add flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir just until combined.
- Press dough evenly into a greased 9×13 baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 18–22 minutes until lightly golden and set. Cool completely.
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until fluffy. Frost the cooled bars and top with festive sprinkles. Slice into squares.
