A hearty and easy-to-make casserole that combines the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls without the hassle of rolling. Perfect for a slow cooker meal.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Dried parsley or Italian seasoning (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet.
  2. Layer half the cabbage, beef mixture, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce in the crockpot. Repeat.
  3. Pour beef broth over the layers. Add rice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until rice is tender.
  5. Stir gently before serving and garnish with parsley or Italian seasoning.

Notes

  • Stir once or twice during cooking if possible.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
