Cowboy Butter Chicken Pasta is a bold, buttery, and spicy comfort food dish made in one pan. Featuring tender chicken, creamy garlic butter sauce, and hearty egg noodles, this Southern-inspired recipe delivers a deliciously satisfying weeknight dinner with a kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz egg noodles (or any short pasta)
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil egg noodles until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Stir until fragrant.
  4. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir and simmer until sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Return chicken and noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until well coated. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use any short pasta like penne or rotini if egg noodles aren’t available.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control spice level.
  • Double the sauce ingredients for an extra creamy version.
  • Great for meal prep—stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
