Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for swirl)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf or bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the cinnamon swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly, then top with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly in the pan.
  8. To make the glaze, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and pourable.
  9. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the cooled bread before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread moist and tender.
  • Let the bread cool fully before glazing to prevent melting.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • You can freeze the unglazed bread for up to 2 months.
