- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 8 cups water
- ½ cup baking soda
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
- 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped pickles (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten
- Coarse pretzel salt
