Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers are a healthy, low-carb alternative to traditional burgers. Featuring juicy ground beef patties nestled on thick cabbage rounds, topped with marinara and melted cheese, this dish offers a guilt-free, keto-friendly comfort meal perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head of green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar
  • 1/2 cup marinara or tomato sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds (about 1 to 1.5 inches thick), keeping the layers intact. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs (if using), grated Parmesan, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties that match the diameter of the cabbage rounds.
  4. Brush the cabbage slices with olive oil. Place one beef patty on top of each cabbage slice.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, until the patties are cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
  6. Remove from the oven, spoon marinara sauce over each patty, and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.

  • Ground turkey can be used for a leaner option.

  • These burgers can be prepped ahead and baked later for easy meal planning.
