Ingredients
Scale
1 cup water
½ cup unsalted butter
1 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Nonstick spray or oil (for air fryer basket)
½ cup sugar (for coating)
1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
2 tbsp melted butter (for coating)
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then stir in flour and mix until a smooth dough forms.
Let the dough cool for 5 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then beat until the dough is glossy and smooth.
Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 1.5–2 inch strips onto parchment paper and cut with scissors.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray or oil. Air fry churro bites at 375°F for 8–10 minutes until golden brown.
While still warm, brush churro bites with melted butter and toss in cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Notes
Let the dough cool before adding eggs to avoid scrambling them.
Use a star tip for authentic churro texture and appearance.
Best served warm for the ultimate fluffy texture and sweet crunch.
Can be stored in an airtight container for 1–2 days but best enjoyed fresh.
